Some indexes of activated magnesia are different from those of ordinary magnesia. If there is a suitable particle size distribution, the average particle size is less than 2 μm (2000nm); the microscopic form is irregular particles, nearly spherical particles, or flake crystals.
Heavy magnesia is pure Mg{{0}}; light magnesia is xMg0*YMg(0H)2, namely basic magnesia, in which the percentage of light magnesia plays an important role in activity. Generally, high-activity magnesium oxide is produced by decomposing basic magnesium carbonate for a long time at low temperatures. The furnace structure is special, the energy consumption is high, and the produced product has a large specific volume. |
